These interlocking rubber floor tiles are easy to install without having to hire a professional. If the subfloor is hard and level, you can install these tiles directly over it. Since the tiles fit together tightly, there’s no adhesive needed for the installation.
The tiles feature a universal interlocking system, meaning the tiles will lock together no matter which sides align. That design saves you installation time. You can also cut the tiles to fit the space using a sharp utility knife.
Since the tiles measure 2x2 feet, they will quickly cover even a larger room.
Focus on Your Workouts, Not Gym Floor Maintenance
Once you’ve installed the tiles, they’re very easy to clean. Just sweep or vacuum them regularly. If you need to perform more extensive cleaning, you can apply a neutral pH cleaner with hot water using a damp mop. Cleaning is quick and easy so you can focus on enjoying your home gym, rather than maintaining it.
Disclaimer
Rubber tiles will expand and contract slightly, depending on whether the tiles receive exposure to varying temperatures, sunlight or humidity. Because of the changes in size of the tiles when exposed to sunlight, it's not recommended to install these tiles outdoors.
Any black recycled rubber material can have minor variations in the intensity of the black color. The rubber flooring can have a shading look when the product changes direction when placed on the floor. This occurs due to the way light is reflected and how the human eye sees the color. Installing the product in the same direction can diminish the appearance of color differences.
These tiles are waterjet cut from a 4 ft wide rolled rubber material that is skived from a cylinder core, which means that some tiles may have a slight curve to the tiles, all of the rubber tiles in a job should be installed with the same side down. If the tiles do not want to lay perfectly flat during initial installation, one option is to use an double-sided carpet tape in order to hold the tiles flat. Often waiting some time to allow the tiles to relax flat will also work.
Maintenance
Always use Neutral pH cleaner on rubber flooring. Damp mop with hot water, use two bucks to keep mop clean.

Q: Are there seams that will collect debris? And what about edging?
A: The seams are very tight as the tiles are cut using a waterjet cutting machine. The seams will not collect debris. You can use commonly found floor transition strips for the edges where needed.
Q: Can it be used outdoors?
A: No, this is for indoor use only; rubber will expand with sunlight and heat.
Q: Can I install this on top of existing carpet?
A: The 3/8 inch or 1/2 inch thickness is best over carpeting, and only if the carpeting is fairly flat already, such as commercial-grade carpet.
Q: Is there a strong odor with this product?
A: All rubber has some level of odor; how strong of a smell it has depends on the individual. This tile has a lower smell than some rubber tiles, as these tiles are not made with sulfur, which tends to produce a higher smell. We suggest requesting a free sample.
Q: Is this tile made from recycled tire material?
A: Yes, it is.
Q: Is it possible to get edge pieces for this product?
A: Borders are not available for this product. To have a clean straight edge, cut off the tabs using a straight edge guide and a sharp utility knife.
Q: Does this come 3/4'' thick?

Q: Is rubber flooring resistant to snow and salt?
A: This product is designed for indoor use. If salty snow is tracked onto the rubber, it can leave discolored areas.
Q: I want to protect hardwood floors in a rental home. Can I use this product for an in-home gym I am creating for the 2 years I will be living there?
A: Yes. You can use rubber over hardwood. Just to be sure the wood floor's finish doesn't react to the rubber, however, it would be a good idea to put a layer of protective paper between the wood and rubber.
Q: Is this made for a car? Will it reduce the cold?
A: We do not recommend parking cars on rubber flooring, as automotive fluids can break down rubber material. For use inside a car, it has limited insulative value.
Q: Is it washable, or how do you keep it clean? I'm looking at it for dogs. I have to help one re-learn to walk, but I also have 3 other dogs.
A: Rubber tiles can be swept and damp mopped with a neutral pH cleaner. Don't allow water or liquids to sit on the tiles.

Excellent product, excellent price and customer service. Delivery was well communicated, and arrived less than a week after ordering, neatly stacked on a pallet and the driver put it right in my garage. Installation was a bit challenging to keep everything lined up properly over such a large room, and prevent any directional stress on the seams, but overall pretty easy and satisfying once completed. Recommend using a rubber mallet for installation, a T-square for measurements and a sharp utility blade for scoring and cuts.

First order of this rubber tile flooring was in 2017. A small re-model of a hallway in 2020 required another 20 tiles to add in. Greatmats did what they could to work out ''reasonable'' shipping for the smaller order. Been very happy with the flooring, it does what it is intended to do, looks good, and is not showing any sign of wearing. After getting broke in it is much easier to mop or ''swiffer'' clean. We are considering a 450 sqft addition. If it works out, rubber tile flooring from Greatmats will be the goal.

We love our new gym floor. It was very easy to install and it's the perfect floor for our home gym. Looks great, no rubber smell and was just what we were looking for. It is great for typical weight training and aerobic exercises. Perfect cushioning for the feet. We did buy the 8 mil blue and grey speckled on black. We've belonged to gyms and health clubs all our lives and now have set up our home gym to accommodate our needs without leaving home. Should have done this a long time ago. Thank you Eric at Great Mats - It was just a phone call order but I only had four pieces left - we nailed the correct square footage! The delivery was also simple - everything went smoothly. If we ever moved and had to build another home gym we would definitely go with this product again without hesitation.

Great floor. Very nice quality. Easy to install almost all in one day one person. Ordered 130 tiles. Cut some pieces to fit but left any I could un cut so that It is easier to fit in a different space if I move and take it with me. Basement is unfinished so I think the uncut tile look works. The pieces I did cut were fairly easy, just ran box cutter knife over multiple times. Used piece of wood to cut on and a drywall T square ruler. Did extensive research for quality USA made product at good price, Greatmats had the best price for that thickness/quality and best shipping cost. Very nice helpful customer service, I actually called about a different floor lesser quality and was recommended this better quality floor at same cost (or lower I can't remember). Also very helpful regarding shipping options. Would use this company again.
