Comfortable Outdoor Deck Tiles

Trust our deck tiles to give you a soft yet firm type of flooring to use over a concrete patio. You can also use our outdoor tile product over wood on a deck or over grass, too.

Our outdoor tiles consist of flexible PVC plastic, which combines the best qualities of rubber and foam. This outdoor tile represents one of the best deck floor covering ideas available, as it offers a non slip design that’s perfect for use in wet conditions as a deck floor cover.

Additionally, because these interlocking decking tiles are Made in the USA, customers can trust the quality of the materials in use. The manufacturer adheres to tight tolerances in the dimension and thickness of the tiles, ensuring they fit properly.

Easy to Install Outdoor Tiles

Whether you want a type of flooring that can go over a porch or that can cover old ugly wood decking at home, these are a popular selection as a deck covering for existing decks for homeowners.

Each of these StayLock perforated tiles has a snap together edge system that doesn’t require glue to secure the layout. They’re made for a DIY install. Should you want to create a finished edge on the layout, we offer ramped border edges that easily connect to these outdoor tiles.

When you are wondering what you can cover your old deck with for a reasonable price, our deck tiles are a perfect selection. Not only do these wood deck covering options have a low cost per square foot, but you don’t have to hire a professional to do the work, saving even more money.

Create a Safe Area for Kids

When you have a pool installed near your deck or in the backyard, kids love to run near it. However, a slippery pool deck can be dangerous. Our PVC outdoor flooring offers slip resistance to help kids avoid falling.

Should the children fall, these rubber-like tiles carry a 20 inch ASTM fall height rating. In wet areas, having a little extra protection for the kids is a welcome benefit.

The slip resistant properties fit nicely in other wet areas, too, such as a greenhouse, a shower room, or a locker room. Each tile has perforations to allow excess water to drain away.

Install these flexible tiles at an outdoor playground or in a gaga ball pit as well.

Colorful PVC Outdoor Flooring for a Fresh Design

When you need to cover an old ugly or cracked concrete patio, spruce up a worn looking backyard, or when you simply cannot afford to redo a rooftop deck or patio with new materials, our tiles offer a cost effective alternative that also delivers a fresh, bright look to the area.

The available colors include:
  • Light blue
  • Dark green
  • Light gray
  • Tan
  • Terra cotta

Disclaimer

Product dimensions may vary by product lot. Tile expansion can arise when used in these environments: high altitude locations and high sun exposure when installed on hard surfaces like concrete. An expansion gap is required when installing the tiles. The gap should be at least a 1/2 inch to allow for the expansion. Also, leave an expansion gap every 400 square feet.

Remove tree leaves promptly to prevent potential staining of the tiles by sweeping leaves off the tiles.

Do not power wash or use harsh chemicals.

Color variation is possible from lot to lot, even within the same order.

Maintenance

Recommended cleaning: Use vinegar and baking soda and hot water to clean the family of Staylock floor tiles. Do not use any cleaning solutions that contain bleach or other harsh chemicals. Do not power wash.

We purchased this flooring as a way to cushion the ground underneath the kid's play area. These were super easy to put together, and we even designed a pattern which matches the patio tiles. Love this!

Customer Rating: 5 Stars - StayLock Tile Perforated Colors 9/16 Inch x 1x1 Ft.

I installed about 200 light gray tiles over a worn but structurally sound outdoor wooden deck. I first cleaned, primed and painted the deck with light gray paint. The tiles arrived in good condition and installation went smoothly due to good production tolerances and quality control. I performed some trimming and that was as described in the instructions.
The deck has a pleasing appearance and feels good underfoot. Time will test the endurance of the product. I am very pleased so far.

We used these mats in a childcare facility. They were purchased for an outdoor playground setting.

We laid them over commercial landscape fabric. They were very easy to snap together…..took us less than 2 hours from start to finish.

Product Questions:

Q: How do you cut this product to fit around obstructions?
A: This PVC outdoor-rated deck and rooftop floor tile can be cut using a sharp utility knife, leaving one inch for expansion in the summer and winter. Learn more about cutting interlocking deck tiles.
Q: Can you use a snow shovel on this material?
A: Yes, this tile can be shoveled in the winter.
Q: My pool surround isn't flat. There are areas where the concrete slopes slightly lower toward the French drains. Will either the ''StayLock'' or ''Patio Outdoor Tile'' flex slightly to conform to these areas? Which would be better?
A: Both of these PVC outdoor plastic tiles will flex with the contour of this surface. Both will work well.
Q: Can this product be used on uneven floors?
A: Yes, this is a good option for uneven surfaces, as the tiles will flow with the floor.
Q: Is this strong enough to have a wooden kids swing set installed on top of it? I'm looking for a product to put between wood and earth.
A: That depends on the amount of weight per post. This tile is designed for human use. It's best to place a large, heavy swing set or playset on the ground and then surround the area with these outdoor perforated tiles.
Q: Would these tiles be ok to put on top of asphalt roll roofing?
A: Yes, these tiles are rubber and asphalt roof safe for residential and light commercial use in limited-use conditions.
Q: Does this product feel hot to the touch when in direct sunlight?
A: Depending on the temperature and the person touching the tile, I know kids are more sensitive than adults, for example. Generally, these outdoor PVC floor tiles will not be much hotter than the outdoor temperature. Because they are perforated, they don't absorb as much heat as a solid surface might. Check out this blog where we did temperature testing.
Q: How easily do these clean? Can you sweep debris such as leaves and pine needles off, or do they get stuck inside the holes?
A: These tiles can be lifted easily to sweep or clean beneath them.
Q: I have a concrete patio. If the patio is removed, leaving only the rock underneath, can this product be used in place of the removed concrete? Like the fact that water seeps through the product.
A: These StayLock Perforated Tiles work best over a flat or fairly flat surface. We suggest taking the rock out before installing the StayLock Tiles.
Q: Do balls, like a basketball, bounce well on these tiles?
A: A well-inflated basketball will bounce well on this product if it is installed over a level, hard surface such as concrete. The StayLock Perforated Tiles are not rigid enough to remain flat over uneven surfaces, such as for a true bounce. You can also consider a more rigid option, such as our Patio Outdoor Tile. They too should be installed over concrete or asphalt.
Q: Can this product be used inside a hot tub? Like a non-slip rug or mat?
A: Yes.
Q: I want to lay these over dirt or sand; what do you recommend using underneath?
A: This could vary depending on the installation. For sand or dirt, we recommend a landscape fabric geo mesh material be laid down first before the tiles go down. For temporary installations, the product can be placed directly on the ground without much preparation. For more permanent installations, the ground should be compacted first. For both of these, the surface should be relatively level to ensure the tiles can properly interlock with one another. Feel free to reach out to our team for more information regarding this.
Q: I am looking for a modular solution for my hot tub surround. It must work with harsh winter snow/ice.
A: This product is suitable for such installations. It is designed for fast drainage and extreme temperature fluctuations.
Q: Mold and mildew resistance?
A: Yes. This is resistant to both.
Q: Is it safe to use these tiles in Florida on a flat roof over TPO? Will these tiles not fly away in the wind? Can we use glue to glue them down? Is there a Florida approval for this product or an NOA?
A: This product has not been tested for use in high winds or hurricane conditions and is typically not glued down due to expansion and contraction.
Q: I will use these on my wood deck. Can I put my patio table (with an umbrella) and chairs on it?
A: Yes. These will support that kind of weight.
Q: Is this good for an enclosed concrete screen porch?
A: Yes. This is a great solution for that.
Q: I have a 20x30 pea gravel patio. The pea gravel depth is about 3 inches, so it isn’t a completely hard and level surface. Would these mats work for me? I tried the plastic deck tiles, but they were too flimsy and would disconnect when walked on.
A: This would work over pea gravel. The active locking connectors are designed to hold tightly together even during significant flexing. We would, however, recommend laying a geomesh under the tiles for this type of installation.
Q: How long does it take for the tiles to fade from the sun? Is there a warranty that covers this?
A: These tiles are not UV-treated, so the warranty will not cover fading. Fading from the sun will depend on the climate of your area.
Q: How do you secure the tiles to the ground when installed on an uneven outdoor surface and prevent them from blowing away during storms, etc.?
A: This is a floating floor system that is not designed to be secured to the ground. However, if necessary, stakes can be driven through the perforations.
Q: Can these tiles be used on uneven lawns? Also, are these suitable for children's toys, like bikes and scooters?
A: They can be used over uneven grass and under bikes and scooters. We do, however, recommend laying a geomesh underneath the tiles to prevent them from sinking into unprepared ground surfaces and to prevent grass and weeds from growing through the tiles.
Q: Can a house air conditioner unit sit on top of these tiles?
A: We would recommend installing the tiles around the air conditioning unit rather than putting the unit on top of them.
Q: Can these be used to cover porch steps?
A: These are not made specifically for that purpose, but they could be used to cover porch steps. You may need a way to attach them to the steps.
Q: Can you lay artificial turf over the tiles?
A: Possibly. It would depend on how large of an installation and what you plan to use the area for.
Q: Can you lay the tiles on an outdoor brick patio?
A: Yes, these tiles could be laid over a brick patio.
Q: Are there deck furniture or gas grill weight limits? Do the tiles compress with weight?
A: These tiles may compress with heavy weight. We don't have a specific weight limit. Furniture coasters can help disperse the weight, especially with deck furniture that has narrow feet.
Q: Can these tiles be used over TPO on a balcony?
A: Yes, these outdoor tiles can be used over a TPO membrane.
Q: Are these tiles safe/suitable for use laid directly on a TPO membrane roof?
A: Yes, this product can be used on a TPO membrane roof.
Q: Can these tiles be placed over EPDM roofing material?
A: Yes, these tiles can be installed over EPDM roofing material.
