I would like to nominate Ms. Hanna Podbielski for Martial Arts Instructor of the Year. She is an instructor at the Kettle Moraine YMCA in West Bend, WI.

She is the epitome of service as she volunteers her time completely out of love for her students and the sport.

It is amazing how she is able to find time to balance her school work and teaching at the same time and still maintain a perfect 4.0 GPA. When her friends are out on Friday nights, she is volunteering her time at the school, teaching students about integrity and character.

In addition to teaching, she finds time to train herself and is currently an AAU silver medalist. She is working toward another national run next year and is looking to compete in three different events. Having been through rehab for her torn hamstring twice, she continues to fight through a torn hip in her training.

She is an inspiration to her students showing how to overcome adversity with perseverance and an indomitable spirit.

She embodies what it means to be a good martial artist, a good instructor, and, more importantly, a good person. She helps kids learn respect and discipline while making classes fun and enjoyable!

I strongly recommend her as Martial Arts Instructor of the Year.
