Options for Luxury Vinyl Tiles

Heavy-duty commercial LVT flooring works in office or retail settings, while residential LVT tile flooring is great for bedrooms, kitchens, and basements. Perhaps best of all, affordable vinyl tiles from Greatmats can mimic pricier types of luxurious flooring, giving you a floor that resembles real stone or hardwood for a fraction of the price. You also don’t have the maintenance headaches found with the real thing. With LVT, there are so many benefits and so little time (needed for maintenance).

Types of High-End Vinyl Tiles

Our residential and commercial luxury vinyl tiles are available with three different installation options, including:
  • Interlocking 2x2 vinyl floor tile squares often have a layer of foam attached to the back, meaning you don’t have to try to install a separate underlayment. They use a hidden interlocking edge to connect to each other without the need for glue, meaning they can be a temporary installation.
  • Glue down high-end vinyl tiles have straight edges on all four sides, allowing you to slide them tightly together. You will have to add your own adhesive to the back to permanently attach them to the subfloor.
  • Peel and stick vinyl tiles are easy to install. Just peel off the protective backing to reveal the pre-applied adhesive. Place the tile in the desired location for a semi-permanent or permanent installation.

Luxury Vinyl Tiles Q&A

Can you install luxury vinyl tile over radiant heat?

You can install luxury vinyl tile over radiant heat in some cases, but it depends on the type of luxury vinyl tile you’re using and the radiant heat system you have installed. Some of these products have different heat restrictions and heat tolerance thresholds.

What is LVT (luxury vinyl tile) flooring?

LVT flooring consists primarily of PVC vinyl in multiple layers that create excellent durability and strength. They use a highly realistic printed top layer to create the desired look in the flooring, whether that’s stone or wood grain.

Is LVT flooring better than laminate?

Deciding whether LVT flooring is better than laminate depends on the use case you have in mind. Both materials are easy to install and can mimic many other types of flooring. However, laminate does not stand up to moisture as well as LVT.

Is luxury vinyl flooring better than hardwood?

In the right circumstances, luxury vinyl flooring is better than hardwood. It’s easy to install and maintain, offers multiple uses, and is less expensive than hardwood. However, it doesn’t quite deliver the same richness of a hardwood floor, so deciding whether it’s better depends on your personal needs and preferences.
