EVA foam is one of the most popular materials for soft flooring. Density and thickness varies, however. Here we test how well Greatmats Sports Plus Designer Foam Tiles protect a raw egg from a 12 foot drop off of a second story deck. Most, but not all of the eggs survived the impact with the mats at the end of the drop but then broke on the adjacent wood deck after bouncing off of the mats.
Sports Plus Designer foam tiles are made of firm EVA foam and are commonly used as home gym flooring, aerobic dance floors and underlayment for marley dance floors over concrete.
