Sturdy Tap Dance Floor Design
A tap dance floor takes a lot of abuse during practice sessions, which is why our tap dancing floor focuses on durability and long-lasting performance.
Our tap board is Made in the USA and consists of high-quality materials that you can trust. The product carries a 5-year limited manufacturer warranty, so you receive a good value.
Each tile has a sturdy plastic base, which yields the feel and sound you want from a tap dance board for home, while also supporting the use of clogging shoes. The vinyl top layer is 3 mm in thickness and offers a waterproof layer for added protection for indoor or temporary outdoor use.
Install Tap Dance Kit Over Carpet
While dance flooring performs the best when installed over a hard surface, this tap dance kit can be installed over a low-pile carpet*. Installation over carpet may vary in results depending on the carpet. Please reach out to our customer service team if you have any questions.
Take-Anywhere Portable Tap Dance Floor
When you need a modular portable tap floor, this is the best product that we offer. It consists of an all-encompassing kit that creates a 3x3 dance floor when fully assembled.
It’s an easy to install portable tap dance floor that still offers commercial quality materials. The kit has all the pieces you need for a high quality tap floor, including 9 individual tiles and the matching border pieces.
Easy DIY Tap Dance Floor Installation
The pieces just pop together using hidden pegs and loops, creating a secure fit that does not require any adhesive. Just step on the edges once they’re lined up, and they will pop together.
By not using glue, you can disassemble the tiles at any time to take them to a new location. Practice at home, practice at the studio, or carry the tiles to a friend’s house for a group practice.
This tap floor board is made for DIY installations, making it a perfect selection for parents with kids in dance classes who want to be able to practice at home with a floor that’s similar in quality to what’s available at the studio or at a competition.
Each kit includes 9 tiles, 6 male borders, 6 female borders, and 4 corner pieces.
Disclaimer
Please note that when the kits are brand new, the floor may feel slippery. This improves over time as the floor is used more. Not recommended for long-term outdoor usage. Do not install over grass.
*Installation over carpet can vary in results. Best results are obtained when installed over low pile carpet. Connecting the tiles together over carpet can be made easier by using plywood underneath as you are connecting the tiles together.
Maintenance
Product can be damp mopped with common household floor cleaners, avoid bleach.

Mine did not arrive with instructions, so we initially put it together incorrectly. Once we went online and saw the instructions we reassembled it, and it seems to be working well. I think it’s helping my knees by giving me some cushioning between my feet and the cement floor of my basement where it is set up.

Dancing on the mat is great. It is built to absorb the impact of the dance steps so it isnt so hard on the ankles and legs when practicing. However, I found it hard to snap together...My palms were red from exerting so much pressure. Also, the edging keeps coming off as I am practicing. Once it is all put together, it isnt easy to flip it over to constantly fix the edges.

Product Questions:
Q: Can I use this floor for ballet and jazz dance classes? My daughter does tap, jazz, and ballet, and I need to know if it works. I will put it on the second floor of the house, which is wood.
Q: If I want to make a larger dance floor, can I combine kits? Or let's say I want to do an 8ft by 8ft dance floor. What would I need to buy?
Q: Can the flooring be used outside over grass?
Q: Can these be used for regular dancing? Such as a birthday party?
Q: Can this floor be used for dancing with bare feet? I am specifically talking about Indian classical dance, which we perform without any footwear. I'm wondering if the surface will have enough grip or if it will slip.
Q: Can a layer of Marley be put on top of the tap dance floor to make it suitable for ballet?
Q: I would like a space to practice my clogging. If I lay the tap dance floor kit over concrete, should I use some sort of subfloor for cushioning? If yes, what do you recommend?
Q: My daughter does Irish dance in both hard and soft shoes. Would this be a good in-home practice floor for her?
Q: Are these mats durable enough to be used for indoor roller skating? Specifically, jam skating?
Q: How quiet is this flooring? Within home walls, the tap sounds amplify.
Q: Does the 3x3 kit come with the black edge strips? Or is it just 9 tiles?
Q: Is this safe to practice ballet jumps on, regardless of the floor (basement, concrete, or carpet) it is on top of?
