Use a Plyometric Rubber Roll for Protecting Athletes
Workouts involving plyometric exercises can be a great way to build explosive muscle power. However, many of the movements involved are hard on the lower body joints of the athletes.
Our plyometric rubber roll can alleviate some of those injury concerns, as it delivers the perfect mixture of cushion and firmness.
Plyometric rubber flooring helps athletes receive the sure footing and traction they need to make quick, powerful movements. The cushioning allows you to work out for longer. It has a lower density than typical rubber gym flooring, making it softer and giving it more cushioning.

In some cases, the manufacturer may provide a cut length within two pieces of material. In other cases, the manufacturer may send material that is over or under the specified square footage. In all cases, the manufacturer is required to supply the overall amount of material per order. It is common for rolled rubber jobs to have butt seams or cut end seams within one roll or run.
Any black recycled rubber material can have minor variations in the intensity of the black color. The rubber flooring can have a shading look when the product changes direction when placed on the floor. This occurs due to the way light is reflected and how the human eye sees the color. Installing the product in the same direction can diminish the appearance of color differences.
Maintenance
Always use neutral pH cleaner on rubber flooring. Damp mop with hot water.

Q: Will this product be durable enough for regular aerobic and kickboxing classes? Secondly, what's the best method to clean this product?
A: For aerobics and kickboxing, we would recommend our Sport Plus Designer Foam Tile, which is a foam product that is designed for high-commercial use. A rubber material would also work but would not provide as much cushion as a foam material. Both products can be damp mopped with hot water and a common floor cleaner. Use a neutral-PH cleaner on the rubber.
Q: Could this product be used outdoors beneath a playset?
A: This rubber product is only rated for indoor use on a hard flat surface.
Q: Is this durable enough to work with dumbbells and other weights? Will it decompress after a heavy dumbbell is moved?
A: This rubber material is designed for plyometric training and can take some exercise and equipment use. For more heavy-duty weight dropping, choose a standard rubber roll material or interlocking tile.
Q: How heavy is a 4' x 20' roll?
A: The 1/2'' plyometric rolled rubber weighs 2.7 lbs per square foot. A 20 ft roll would weigh 216 lbs. The order minimum is 100 SF.
Q: Do you need to glue or tape down this mat? Would it stay in place if not?
A: Gluing or taping is not required when installing this product, and it will generally stay in place. If shifting becomes a problem, double-faced tape can be used.
Q: Is this an appropriate subfloor for a ballet floor where dancers will be on pointe? Does it go immediately under the Marley? Does it also function as a vapor barrier?
A: The plyo goes directly under Rosco Adagio Marley. OR, you can install Court Floor Tile Flat Top Tiles on top of a 6mm plyo rubber to use as a subfloor. That option would be a better fit for pointe. It is not a vapor barrier.

During quarantine, I decided to turn an unfinished room in basement into a home gym. Initially, I was just going to put a few foam tiles down in the middle, but I came across this plyometric flooring searching for options. The ½ inch plyometric rubber rolls fit my needs: I wanted durable for weights yet some cushion for jumping and general comfort. This product is great! The whole process of ordering, delivery, and installation was smooth and easy. I do still need a yoga mat for some floor work and it does show dirty foot prints. But, I love the way it feels under foot, both with and without shoes.

Matting was easily received, cut and installed. I put the matting in a descent sized workout room and only took a couple of hours to do with another person. The matting seems of high quality material but cannot comment on longevity as I haven’t had it installed that long.

very disappointed that the thickness of the 2 rolls differs significantly and creates a lip between the two. I had previously ordered with no problem.
