Golden Age Engineered Hardwood Flooring With Acacia Wood Grain Finish
For an engineered flooring option that will remind customers of the elegance of Victorian-era floors, rely on the Acacia wood grain finish in our Golden Age Hardwood Flooring for the best results.
The handscraped craftsmanship our manufacturers apply to this product allows it to stand out from the crowd. The level of warmth and depth delivered in our engineered flooring is sure to catch the eye.
These floors provide all of the minute details customers expect to find in a rich Victorian floor. Each plank contains a beveled edge, a hand-scraped texture, and filled knots. It has all of the looks and desirable design elements of true hardwood flooring planks at a fraction of the price and with fewer maintenance requirements.
Actual Hardwood Veneer Layer
By using a 1.5 mm thick veneer layer across the top of a plywood layer, our planks carry a lower cost than an actual full thickness hardwood plank. By reducing the amount of Acacia hardwood in each piece, we are also able to preserve this natural hardwood for other floors and uses.
Each Acacia veneer layer contains the actual wood grain lines, which contribute to the appearance of a full hardwood floor layout. Additionally, the Acacia veneer has a hand-scraped texture to add to the realistic look.
Each plank in the carton will have different color shades, wood grain patterns, and hand scraped patterns. During the layout, the installer is able to use these different looking pieces to create a random layout in the floor, which matches the randomness of an actual hardwood floor.
The veneer piece fits over the top of the plywood layer, which means visitors will never see the plywood with our product. (The plywood layer contains the tongue and groove system that serves to connect the planks to each other.)
This design yields the stylish and classy look that was synonymous with the Victorian era. However, our hardwood flooring will cost quite a bit less than vintage hardwoods, averaging about $4 per square foot.
Customers can select among multiple stain colors in this Acacia wood flooring model, including light browns, dark browns, or grays.
Tips for Acacia Engineered Flooring Installation
Installation of this type of flooring is an easy process. The majority of homeowners should be able to do the work on their own without needing to hire a handyman for the job.
To install our engineered planks, customers will simply need a flat subfloor. This can consist of concrete, plywood, old laminate, or other materials. Remove any stray nails or other objects sticking up from the subfloor.
Select among a floating floor, a glue-down floor, or a nail-down floor install.
- Floating: This type of layout will float over the subfloor, rather than connecting directly to it. With the floating floor, the manufacturer recommends using tongue and groove glue to connect the adjacent planks to each other, providing stability.
- Glue: Installers can choose to use a urethane-based adhesive to attach the faux Acacia floor to the subfloor. This ensures a secure fit, but it can generate a bit of mess if the installer uses too much glue.
- Nail: With a nail-down installation, installers can use brad nails or staples to attach the faux hardwood floor to the subfloor. The manufacturer recommends using 18-gauge brad nails or staples 1-1/2 inches long for this floor.
With random lengths of individual planks between 11 and 47 inches in each carton, installers can avoid having seams abut each other in adjacent rows. These varying lengths ensure a random-looking layout as well.
Should the installer need to cut a plank to fit against a fixed object or a wall, use a hand saw or power saw to generate a clean cut.

Maintenance and Care
Manufactured wood floor planks do not require specialized care and maintenance tasks. Several years after purchase, customers may want to apply a fresh coat of high-quality urethane finish, but it's not a requirement. The manufacturer can recommend a brand of finish to use.
For general cleaning purposes, simply use a broom, dust mop, or gentle vacuum cleaner over the top whenever needed. However, a vacuum with a beater bar could damage the veneer layer on the Acacia floor.
When mopping the floor, do not use water, harsh abrasive cleaners, or oil soaps, any of which could cause permanent damage. Instead, only mop with an approved floor cleaning product.
Do not allow spills or pet accidents to sit on the floor. These items could cause staining over time.
Maintenance
Sweep or dust mop your floor once a week or more with an approved floor cleaner. Spills, pet accidents, or tracked in dirt should be cleaned immediately. Never clean or wet mop with water, water may damage floor. Use a wood floor cleaner, do not use harsh abrasive cleaners.
