This thick Sterling playground tile is fall height rated, meaning it protects kids who fall off play equipment.
The design follows Head Injury Criteria (HIC) 570 ratings, giving it an 8-foot fall rating under ASTM F1292 standard specifications for impact attenuation of surfacing materials for playgrounds. These are among the best rubber playground fall protection tiles available.

Our 2x2 foot playground tiles’ design includes a molding process that’s unique versus other rubber interlocking tiles. The molding system compresses each tile from three different directions during manufacturing, which ensures high-end quality, durability, and shock-absorbing capabilities.
At 4.25 inches thick, the rubber will not wear away, even when used under swings and slides at an indoor or outdoor playground.

Environmentally-Friendly Rubber Playground Tiles
For installations where you need LEED points, our tiles meet two of the LEED rating system criteria under MR 4.1 and MR 4.2.
These tiles consist of recycled rubber buffings or crumb rubber from reground automotive tires. A rubber design from a Canadian manufacturer with 100% recycled SBR rubber backing and topped with a recycled SBR/EPDM wear layer, you can trust the quality of the ingredients in use and the tight manufacturing tolerances deployed.

For orders of 250 tiles or more (covering at least 1,000 square feet), this product requires some level of site supervision during installation from the product manufacturer, and our customer service team can help you figure out the best means of satisfying this requirement for our rubber outdoor tiles.
Some black or color will rub off to some extent under normal use. This is common contact wear with this type of rubber tile.
Constant UV exposure can cause some color fading as well which is normal for outdoor rubber tiles.
