At an outdoor playground where you want to give children who are running and playing protection from falls, using rubber playground tiles with a fall height rating is the best option for safety.
Our 2x2 foot Sterling playground interlocking tiles are thick enough to protect kids as they play. They carry a 5-inch tile thickness measurement.
The engineering process with these tiles delivers a 10-foot fall height rating, preventing head injuries from a fall of up to 10 feet. It follows ratings for the ASTM F1292 standard specification for impact attenuation of surfacing materials for playgrounds and Head Injury Criteria (HIC) ratings under 570.
Eco-Friendly Recycled Rubber Playground Tiles
Our manufacturer in Canada uses only high-quality materials and precise manufacturing tolerances with these rubber outdoor play area tiles. You can trust the quality of the design and manufacturing process.
Each tile consists of rubber buffings or crumb rubber from reground automotive tires with 100% recycled SBR rubber backing and is topped with a virgin EPDM rubber wear layer.
Unlike black and pigmented playground tiles, the virgin EPDM rubber wear layer of the 95% Premium Colors offers a durable surface that prevents black rub-off. This feature is ideal for playgrounds where young children frequently crawl and play on the ground. It's also perfect for high-traffic playgrounds at schools and public parks for additional durability.
This product qualifies for LEED points under the MR 4.1 and MR 4.2 categories, should your facility need an environmentally friendly solution.
Even while using recycled materials, our 5-inch rubber playground tiles remain safer than thinner materials, protecting against falls.

Constant UV exposure can cause some color fading as well which is normal for outdoor rubber tiles.
