Our Tape - Roll Out Tatami Mats Vinyl Color Tape 3 Inch x 45 Ft. provides a seamless look when used to permanently install our Roll Out Mats with Tatami surfaces. This features a tatami texture surface to match tatami-texture roll out mats.
This vinyl mat tape features a stronger adhesive than clear, removable tapes.
If used on smooth wrestling mats, it will cover some of the wrestling mat competition lines or graphics on martial arts mats.
Our 3-inch single-color tatami tape is available in the 45-foot roll in 3 colors: Charcoal Gray, Black, and Royal Blue.This vinyl mat tape features a stronger adhesive than clear, removable tapes.

Installation
For permanent installations, we strongly recommend applying VLP glue to the tape edges. Without the VLP glue, it can leave adhesive residue on the mat when pulled up.
Prepare the mat by wiping down the seam with denatured alcohol. Make sure the mats fit tightly against each other without any gaps along the seam.
To help line up the tape as you're applying the tape, place a straight edge along the seam, off-set by 1.5 inches. Start by pulling back about 12 inches of the backing paper from the tape and apply the tape to the bottom of the mat, centered on the seam, and wrapping it around the top of the mat.
Remove about 2 feet of the backing, pull the tape tight while lining it up with the center of the seam and press down to apply. Using a plastic applicator, press down the taped area. If wrinkles form, lift up the tape and reapply.
Continue until the entire seam has been taped, then wrap the tape around the edge to the back side. Cut off any excess.
Carefully apply an even bead of VLP glue to the entire edge of the tape. This will create an optimal seal and a full lip. The VLP will shrink slightly when dry, so be sure to apply a generous bead.
Maintenance
Damp mop with common household floor cleaners.
