Q: I'm looking to protect the hardwood floor in a small workspace. What does the underside of the tile look like? Smooth or textured?
A: The underside of this tile has a waffle style texture. You can see the same underside texture on the Supratile Slate Tile page.
Q: Can cars be parked on these tiles without breakage or slippage?
A: The 4.5mm Series is perfect for garages, basements, and light commercial applications that see foot traffic or vehicle traffic from cars, SUVs, or similar. Normally, adhesive is not required. Exposure to large temperature swings and sunlight, turning tires on the tiles with tight maneuvers, and certain cold temperature applications may necessitate adhesive.
Q: Can you use a jack on this flooring?
A: We recommend at least a 6.5 mm thickness for use under jacks.

I was a little hesitant when ordering because my total order was about $1,000 and I had no previous experience either with installation or owning any such product before. I have to say, it was worth every penny. Installation was very easy. The pieces to together with a light tapping of a hammer and cuts were very easy using a relatively cheap $10 pair of tin snips from Home Depot. I have had it in my garage for about a month now and the tiles appear to be very durable and waterproof (condensation from my car A/C just sits on top of the tile). Really no complaints at all. If I had to list a downside, it would be that because the tile does expand in the heat, the hottest summer days make some of the tiles a bit floppy but it goes away when the sun goes down and they contract again a bit. Because of this, you don't want to run them right up against the walls of your garage when doing the installation. I was able to find a matching concrete paint and painted a very small bit of the concrete at the edges of the tile and up the wall for a more finished appearance.

I love this Product! Its my first time installing it. Its still flexible in the cold weather, snaps together with a rubber malate rather nicely. Its a good looking way to cover stained concrete.

I ordered modular tiles for my garage floor called Supratiles. I first called and spoke to someone in their sales department, telling him my needs and asking for suggestions. My only complaint about the whole process would be that he was trying to persuade me to buy another brand of tile that is made by Greatmats themselves (Supratile is not, they just resell these from a different manufacturer). After determining that Supratile would be easier to cut, thereby making my installation easier, I went ahead and ordered them. Shipping only took a few days, install went great, and my garage looks amazing!
