The Safety Wall Pad 2x8 Ft x 2 inch WB Z-Clip ASTM can add safety to your gym, school, recreation center, or martial arts studio. It’s also a great choice for calm rooms, therapy rooms, or sensory rooms, helping to create a safer environment for people with special needs.
Designed for direct wall attachment, these wall mats are wood-backed pads with a foam-wrapped front and side. The foam features an ASTM rating and can help to protect athletes or children from impacts with hard walls.
Select Reliable, Premium Wall Pads
This protective wall padding features quality components to ensure optimal performance.
- The backing consists of a 7/13 inch Georgia Pacific Blue Ribbon® oriented strand board. It’s third-party certified to the Sustainable Forestry Initiative® procurement standard and is free of added urea-formaldehyde resins.
- The foam layer is a two-inch polyethylene foam that meets ASTM 2440 protective standards. The foam contains at least 60% recycled pre-consumer raw material.
- The cover is an 18.5-ounce coated smooth matte vinyl.
This gym wall padding can contribute to LEED points. It’s also anti-mildew, anti-fungus, antimicrobial, anti-bacterial, and UV-treated.
Embrace a Simple Z-Clip Installation Method
The wall pads include aluminum Z-Clips for an easy and versatile installation. MountThe Z-Clip mounts to the wall at the top and bottom, as aligned with panel size and mounting height. The opposing Z-Clip is mounted to the backside of the wall pad.
Once the clips are securely fastened, you can nest the clip mounted to the pad into the clip that’s mounted to the wall. Use a rubber mallet to tap the wall pad securely down into the Z-Clip.
The mats can be removed and reinstalled as needed.

Q: I consult for an indoor sports facility that is looking to install some type of wall mat system. Three sides are needed. The dimensions of the area are roughly 120 feet along the two sidewalls and 60 feet along the back wall. The other back wall area does not require wall mats. The preliminary thinking is to go 8 feet high; minimally 6 feet. At this stage, we are trying to determine what are the best practices in terms of quality and sizes. The facility is multi-sport (basketball, soccer, volleyball, pickleball, etc.).
