This gymnastics tumbling mat is a highly versatile addition to a preschool, elementary school, or other program for young students. (It’s recommended that older students and professional athletes use a thicker mat.)
The 1.5-inch-thick mat is not just a surface for gymnastics; it's a safety measure. Offering valuable shock absorption, it helps keep athletes safe, making it an ideal choice for students and gym classes, bounce houses, indoor playgrounds, and kids’ recreation centers.
Quality crosslinked polyethylene foam is wrapped in a durable vinyl-coated polyester surface. As a cost-saving measure, the underside of the mats features gray vinyl.
Join Multiple Mats With Hook and Loop Fasteners
The gymnastics mat is a V4 mat, which features hook and loop fasteners on all four sides. That design allows you to create a full installation by connecting the mats side-to-side and end-to-end for versatile design choices. In contrast, V2 mats only have hook and loop attachments on the short ends to create long runs.
The hook and loop fastener is 2 inches wide, creating a secure connection.

Its foldable nature allows for easy movement and stacking, making it ideal for spaces with limited storage. My 8 year old loves his new rainbow mat--he says it's very "cool." Perfect for tumbling and practicing martial arts exercises. The colors are vivid and the thickness is just right for a younger child doing basic moves. And, it's not terribly heavy to move around, which means it's conveniently portable. We are very pleased with our purchase from Great Mats! We also had a quick response from customer service as we were tracking our mat around the holidays--good customer service as well.
